In search of urban delights

20/21 Espacio de Arte, Tijarafe town
The Museum of Modern Art was established just a few years ago on the initiative of a private collector, as a gift to his favourite island. The spectacular architecture was realised exclusively by local craftsmen. The impressive permanent collection ranges from Goya to Anselm Kiefer and classical Spanish modernism, and new themed exhibitions are regularly held (www.2021lapalma.com).
Santa Cruz de la Palma
An evening in the capital, Santa Cruz de la Palma, combined with dinner at Casa Osmunda in San Pedro de Breña Alta (www.casaosmunda.com) or a concert at the Teatro Chico, is an unforgettable experience! Spend the night at the Hotel San Telmo (www.hotel-santelmo.de), an owner-run city hotel with a lovely patio.
Los Llanos
In Los Llanos, the unofficial capital of La Palma, you can enjoy a coffee on the Plaza de España, sheltered by huge Indian laurel trees, or take a leisurely stroll through the neighbouring alleyways, lined with numerous small shops and restaurants, all the way to the market hall. Alternatively, you could visit the new Benahorita Archaeological Museum.
